Wow Wii

I've always thought that the Wii was pretty cool. But it was only after the release of Wii Fit and seeing this video on YouTube (Snowboarding being played with the Wii Fit balance board) that I actually went out and bought one. What makes it great is that it not only offers hardened gamers a new experience, it also attracts people who enjoy the activity and the feeling that you're almost doing it for real. Though it's not quite like real snowboarding, its still damn awesome, and it's a nice quick fix whilst I'm saving up to go away and do the real thing again!

Exploding Narratives

A couple of months back I entered b.TWEEN's Exploding Narrative competition, and sent in an idea for a location-based game (a mediascape) that can be played on a GPS enabled device. My idea got onto the shortlist, so I'll be pitching it at b.TWEEN 08, at the Museum of Science and Industry in Manchester in the hope of winning £10k to go and make it into an actual game. In short, the idea was called The Detective and enabled the user to go out and play the role of a Detective by finding clues in various fictional crime scenes and solving crimes. I'm still developing the idea fully, and I'll post more info when I have it.

Here's one I made earlier...

There was a time when I was sick of this film. Six long months of all-nighters from storyboard to post production it took to complete it, but the effort paid off with screenings at Animated Exeter's Best of the West 05, Swansea's Animation day (SAND) 04, and a Best Student Film 2004 nomination from the Royal Television Society. So yeah, it's been finished a while now but it's the only thing I have on YouTube! ...so here it is.
